Does the test hurt?
No.The test utilizes a very shallow scratch that should not be painful.Do expect to be itchy during the test, though!
Who can be tested?
Adults and children over age 2 can be tested. It is not recommended that patients with a history of severe anaphylactic reactions or those who are severe asthmatics be tested. Moderate asthmatics who are unmanaged by medications and pregnant or breast feeding women should also not be tested. For these individuals, a blood test is safer.
What is tested for?
Allergy Labs of America tests for up to 60 geographically common, specific environmental allergens including tree, grass and weed extracts, pollen, and cat and dog dander.
How long will I have to be on lmmunotherapy?
Results vary from patient to patient. Full results may be as little as 9 months and as much as 3 to 5 years
How soon will I see results from lmmunotherapy?
Every patient is different, but most begin to experience symptom relief after the first 60 days of the prograrn
What are the side effects?
The only side effect associated with immunotherapy is the small possibility of anaphylactic shock.This risk is extremely well managed through patient screening and medical supervision of increasing dosages of antigens. Other than that, there are no side effects.
Will my insurance cover this?
Most insurance carriers-including federal programs-do cover allergy testing and Immunotherapy for up to 3 years
How much Capital do I need to start the ALA allergy program?
None. Your office provides the basic office supplies space and access to Communications and ala will pay for all the supplies related to the allergy program.
What is the payment process?
ALA trains your clinic to Bill and collect for all allergy Services. Ala will invoice you when conformations of payment collected are received. All monies flow through the same channels as they do with all your other Provided Services. We do not collect on 0% rather at a “Fair market Value,” as established by an OIG approved management company. We want to partner with you and help your business grow rather then just charge you for supplies.
How are payments made to the practice?
You maintain total control of cash flow. Insurance companies will pay you in the same manner as they do currently. You will
continue to receive insurance reimbursements and collect patient co-pays for services rendered. Allergy Labs of America (ALA)will then assist with the revenue cycle process and invoice you for services provided to you.
What is required from my office?
ALA will need 100-200 square foot area that will refrigerate raw antigens, store finished patient’s treatments, and provide a dedicated work space for testing and educating patients.
Will training be provided?
Allergy Labs of America provides training for administrative and clinical staff. Training includes information about immunotherapy science and regulatory requirements. We also do extensive training with providers on site. We will go over step-by-stepwhat is required ofyouand howwewillintegrateinto your practice allunderthe guidelines of theJointTask Force (JTF) on Practice Parameters which is comprised of members from the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. You will also gain access to our national team of healthcare attorneys and the ability to get answers on any questions you may have
Who manages the allergy center?
You, the provider, will determine which patients are candidates for allergy testing and immunotherapy services. You will manage all medical decisions and supervise the clinical aspects of the allergy center.
What ongoing support will be provided by Allergy Labs of America?
Allergy Labs of America (ALA) will provide continuous education for your staff and providers. Allergy Labs of America will manage and support all administrative and technical requirements of the allergy center. The local Allergy Labs of America
Clinical Lab Specialist (CLS) assigned to your practice will work with your staff continually to ensure a successful partnership
How will the allergy center be promoted?
Allergy Labs of America (ALA) will provide you with patient education and marketing materials for your office in order to communicate to your patients. We also work directly with your practice to assist in other marketing techniques and
programs.
